“Em, I don’t know how to tell you this, so I’ll just say it bluntly. You’re out of your mind. I couldn’t go on another minute, to hell with another hour.” Raze said looking mutinously at his sister.
“You said that you could-.” Emma began before a snarky voice interrupted.
“Pathetic…” Marius said dropping down near the duo, “Probably for the best though. If you had tried to go on another hour, you would definitely be running into these beauties.” He finished throwing a decapitated head in front of Raze.
Emma to her credit didn’t so much as flinch. Raze on the other hand, vomited.
“Heart of champion…” Marius said looking at the sick man dejectedly.
“Why are you here?” Emma asked cautiously, kicking the Immortals head away from her brother.
“You mean why am I in the forest?” Marius asked feigning innocence, “I was taking a nice, long, leisurely stroll when I happened across this nasty little party. And wouldn’t you know it, I didn’t have an invitation. As you can imagine, they’re not that welcoming to party crashers.” He chuckled, “The rest as they say, is history. Though I did let one live in exchange for proper invitations next time. I hear it’s going to be one hell of a party!”
“Do you ever speak plainly?” Emma asked frustrated
Marius’ eyes turned frosty as they met Emma’s. For nearly a full minute they stared coldly at each other, “Nope.” He said smiling brightly
“Let’s go, Raze. This person is clearly out of his mind.” Emma said ignoring said man.
“You look better than the last time I saw you.” Marius said appraisingly
“And what’s that supposed to mean?” Emma asked scathingly.
“You’re standing up like a big girl.” Marius said chuckling softly
“Go to Hell!” Emma spat
“Soon, very soon.” Marius said laughing fully now, “However I think we’re about to have some company.”
